THE case between golfer Rory McIlroy and his former management company Horizon Sports Management, appears to have cost him a packet.

According to reports, it has been settled for a sum in the region of $25m, plus legal costs.

McIlroy will make this once-off payment to resolve the long-running dispute between the sides over a contract he signed in 2011.
