Rory McIlroy’s out-of-court settlement with his former management company brings to mind that scene from Monty Python’s Life of Brian when the kindly Roman centurion is lining up the locals for execution.

Golfer Rory McIlroy’s case against former management company Horizon Sports Management has been settled. It is understood the golfer will pay the firm over $25m (€21.8m) in a once-off payment plus costs.

THE case between golfer Rory McIlroy and his former management company Horizon Sports Management, appears to have cost him a packet. 

World number one golfer Rory McIlroy has settled his long and bitter contract dispute with his former agent in a deal believed to be worth more than €17.25m.

Lawyers for both sides in Rory McIlroy’s legal case against his former sports management company have for a second time asked for the case to be deferred.
