We need to focus on our ailing health service

While we are all delighted the Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has lifted a burden off himself by disclosing his sexuality, I am more concerned with the policies of this minister and the party he belongs to.

We need to focus on our ailing health service

The minister wants equality in terms of one’s sexuality and marriage, but in terms of a person’s social status, this minister and his party cannot see the hypocrisy in terms of the massive difference between the haves and have nots.

In Clondalkin, we have serious social issues in terms of housing, unemployment and affordability of third level education and many other issues.

I sincerely hope there is serious change on these issues, but alas I am not optimistic. As a male of 51-years-of-age I am afraid to get sick due to heavy costs on our family budget.

This is something this minister and his party fail to understand.
