I must ask this question. Are we in this country being taken for a ride by the oil companies?

Drop in oil price has not trickled down to pumps

The price of a barrel of crude oil, earlier this year, was well over $100, but has since dropped to about $60s per barrel, which is a decrease of 40%.

What we are experiencing at the pumps is a decrease of approximately 10%: ie, diesel down from €142 to €128 per litre.
