Gazans just want human rights and to live with dignity

Re Gaza, I am mindful of the authoritative words of John Ging, the UNWRA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) representative.

He said: “the problem here is the destruction of a civilised society, where 80% of Gazans are dependent on food aid, with water and sewage on the brink of crisis. Their housing has been destroyed. They are not terrorists or violent people.They are a deeply civilised people, notwithstanding the

provocative nature and injustice of their circumstance. They want to live in dignity with basic freedoms and human rights.”
