We should all fear for the legacy of the Kenny years

Does our Taoiseach have a few dopplegangers wandering about the country? He seems to be so busy opening factories, software houses, call centres, turnings sods and filibustering in the Dáil, how does he have time to run the country?

We should all fear for the legacy of the Kenny years

Maybe he’s the new Superman or, maybe, he has nothing else to do. Perhaps this is why we’ve had to endure so many political crises over the past year: whistleblowers, Shatter, Callinan, medical cards, McNulty, Purcell, GSOC, Flannery and then Irish Water – so far.

You, Mr Kenny promised a ‘New Politics’ and with your handling of the above fiascos you’ve definitely given us that.

You will be remembered as the Taoiseach who changed the political landscape by facilitating the rise of Sinn Féin, the extreme left and the myriad independents which will will lead to major instability for years to come. The FG election manifesto was, to my mind, an innovative and fresh approach to creating a badly-needed seismic change in politics and the way the country operates. It was for the good of all in society.

Mr Kenny, you and your party reneged on that so you deserve to be named a ‘snollygoster’ (google it). God help Ireland in the future.
