While we were blessed with good weather in Czech in late September, here our October weather is spectacular. Clearly, the word âspectacularâ refers to âa spectacleâ; I see that one dictionary describes it as âmarked by, or given, to an impressive, large scale display.â
The October sunlight over my local bay certainly fulfills that definition, miles of gleaming sandbanks threaded with small waterways along which the wintering birds forage or roost in the sun.
