Join effort to combat poverty in rural Ireland

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) are frightening: 363,000 people are at risk of poverty; 486,000 are suffering deprivation; and 138,000 are living in constant poverty — double that of four years ago.

There will be a public forum in the Green Glens Arena, in Millstreet, on October 18, to discuss the ‘Future of Rural Ireland’. Topics will include energy, agriculture, fishing, tourism, broadband and education.
