Show me public sector worker on €919 a week

I am baffled as to where the CSO’s recent figure of €919 comes from. Who in the public sector earns this amount a week? Please, I really want to know. 

Certainly not any public servant I know. I am a public servant and I do not earn this amount a week. My husband works in the private sector and earns the same basic wage as me. But he has car tax and insurance paid on his company car which is also servicing by the company. His diesel, mobile phone and laptop are paid, plus a yearly bonus. I do not have any of the above perks. I have to use my money for my car, phone etc and I do not get a bonus at the end of the year. I really believe this is now an outdated argument and is all about driving a wedge between workers -whether public or private.

Where does this leave us as people? Still arguing over who earns more?
