Why I back airstrikes against ISIS extremists

It has been many months since ISIS first came to notice in the western media when they seized a town in the east of Syria. Since then they have swept across Syria and northern Iraq carrying out a murderous campaign of ethnic cleansing.

Why I back airstrikes against ISIS extremists

Nobody in their path is safe; not Christians, nor Yazidis, nor Shia Muslims, nor even Sunni Muslims who happen to disagree with their hardline ideology. In northern Iraq the Kurdish forces are the last bulwark against them. It is estimated that ISIS number anything up to 10,000, but they cannot be allowed to grow and gain momentum. That is why I support the United States decision to target them with air strikes. I also applaud their supplying of food and water to the displaced civilians on the hillsides.
