Journalists deserve to be criticised by public

Terry Prone tells us that ‘shouting abuse at journalists’ is not good (June 23). Why is it not? The media are as much to blame for the bankruptcy of the country as the politicians and bankers.

Journalists deserve to be criticised by public

During the boom, too many in the media told us that all in the garden was rosy. They lauded the decisions and policies of a small elite in government and banking.

They misled us then and have now joined the anti-austerity bandwagon, telling us more lies. They ignore the fact that government services are costing billions more than the taxes being collected. They keep telling us fairytales that someone else should pay and that it’s all the fault of foreigners. I have no problem shouting abuse at journalists.
