Scotland deserves right to independence

I heard a bit on the news recently about the Scottish referendum on independence; like a lot of people, you think, that’s over there, it’s of no concern to us.

Scotland deserves right to independence

However the reality is, it should be of concern to us as the Scots are waking up to the idea of ruling themselves and being in control of their own destiny. So from one nearly independent Celtic country to another possibly independent one in the very near future, the advice would be, make sure it’s all or nothing.

Scotland are in a similar position to us as regards our natural resources being hijacked for the benefit of others. Here we had control over our untapped resources, but our government(s) decided to hand most over to multinational corporations in order to line the pockets of international investors. In Scotland they don’t have that luxury of owning anything to give away, because its spoils (oil, etc) are divided up in Westminster parliament. The ownership of Scotland remains in the hands of around 50 people which is unbelievable, but it’s a fact. Its land mass are still owned primarily by landlords with strong links to England’s ruling elite, who live comfortable upper class lives on the rents that their tenant farmers pay them. Balmoral Castle and its estate would be one example of an unjustified playground for England’s partying royalty.
