Catholic voters made point with ballot box

We have heard much in the recent electoral analyses on the decline and fall in the Fine Gael/Labour coalition government support.

Catholic voters made point with ballot box

The punters have it wrong. This collapse was not solely due to austerity and monetary issues, horrendous as these are and have been for so many vulnerable people in our land of Ireland.

It would appear the Irish people were used as fodder to give power to a hard and heartless group of politicians who promised so much hope prior to being elected, but who had no intention of honouring their word.

What the Irish people witnessed in action was a hardcore group of socialists for whom the promotion of socialist ideological agenda superseded any genuine concern for those affected by the worst recession in modern history.

Indeed, to the fore in their agenda we witnessed a blatant sectarianism that sought to denigrate and remove from society any vestige of that which gave any solace to many in our communities i.e., the majority Catholic Christian belief system.

Politicians bemoaned the need for tolerance, kindness and other Christian values that are the bedrock of a civilised society while, at the same time, they have sought to remove by stealth, the foundation stones on which such values stand.

Catholics, who have quietly endured the suffering meted out by your socialist, sectarian governance have had enough and have used the ballot box to make a point.
