Be careful Dónal Óg

Dónal Óg Cusack’s article (Irish Examiner, May 2) is replete with examples of taboo terms deemed discriminating. Alas, however, even Dónal Óg is seemingly prone to the odd lapse.

Thus, he belittles the owner of the LA Clippers basketball club — accused of racist remarks — as an “old geezer”. Hence ageism.

Taxi-drivers are also stereotyped as sources of racial prejudice. Hence simplistic generalisation.
