Water charges will rise rapidly

What we have not been told is that the €240 per year water household charge will rapidly rise to €600/700 per annum when the Government stops providing €537m to Irish Water.

Government will abandon Irish Water and force the company to hike charges or leave households without water. Every charge and cutback is foisted upon those that are most vulnerable. These charges will only affect people struggling to pay bills, mortgages and the unjust household charge.

The same is replicated throughout rural Ireland via Single Farm Payment cuts.

Ireland’s political landscape needs huge change, if we are to get what the Proclamation stated “that all children of the nation must be treated equally”. But governments have done quite the opposite, they have plundered the poor, who have been treated like second-class citizens by all of our institutions.

The laws of the State have been manipulated to discriminate against the poor.

Environment Minister Hogan’s household charge will follow poor people to the grave, but the only grave Fine Gael have dug is for their coalition partners in government, the Labour Party.
