No democracy in Egypt

Lately we have heard much about democracy and the rights of people to express themselves, mainly from the US government.

In Egypt, this is what the people did when they voted in President Mohammed Morsi. (Like him or dislike, him the people voted for him in a massive majority).

Yet, the European Union and Egypt’s biggest paymaster, the USA (that country again) have stood idly by and let President Morsi rot in jail, while many hundreds of his supporters have been killed or simply disappeared.

Now, we are told that the chief of staff of Egypt’s armed forces, General Abdel-Fattah El Sisi, has resigned and announced that he will contest elections.

I predict that Abdel-Fattah El Sisi will win with a 99% majority.

Why have we heard so little about what is going on is this country?

Why is President Morsi still in jail?
