Well done, Cork City Council, in purchasing the former Cork Savings Bank H/Q, at No 1 Lapps Quay.

This beautiful, majestic limestone building, which was built in 1839, housed ‘the people’s bank’ for generations and is rightly now returned to the people of Cork.
