Time for meaningful action in Palestine

Five years on from Israel’s assault on Gaza, Operation Cast Lead, when approximately 1,400 Palestinians were killed (Amnesty International), the situation in Gaza is increasingly desperate.

Already suffering because of Israel’s siege, the people of Gaza now face up to 16 hours per day without electricity.

It is an affront to humanity that the people of Gaza have been abandoned by the so-called international community.

When will the Irish government call for meaningful action to ensure that the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people are respected?
