Insensitive action

I am astounded at the cruelty of the proposed ESB strike on Dec 16. Have these people not considered the consequences of their actions?

There are thousands of households literally hanging on by their fingernails.

This will send many over the edge. How will the old and the sick keep warm? How do parents who are barely containing their irritation (due to the pressures of life) answer the queries of children when Christmas doesn’t happen? I am completely revolted by the insensitivity of these union members.

Do they not know what the word ‘union’ means? It does not mean ‘mé féin’. As a body they’ll join the ranks of those despicable people who got us into the present downturn.
