A way to lighten exam pressure on students

If you are the parent of a schoolchild at primary or secondary level the inevitable stress and concern regarding their options for third level becomes all-encompassing.

For many, choices are taken, advice given, often with the express aim of reducing the pressure, resulting in compromise, not always the right result. There are many ways of lightening the pressure. How about dealing with the inevitable balance option of honours or pass. Could we just have a common exam? !

Failing that, what exactly is wrong with all students sitting both the pass and honour level paper? I know it would have an added cost but I’m sure something like a cap on public sector pensions or eradication of expenses for politicians would more than offset same.
