Nothing ‘average’ about Cork hurlers

What a fabulous letter by Matt Aherne (Oct 12) regarding the views of the so-called ‘experts’ on our hurlers.

How right he is when he articulated precisely why the ‘experts’ have taken this good team for granted and were so dismissive of their efforts during this All Ireland campaign.

I’m sure that Matt is only too well aware that it’s not only the likes of Enda McEvoy who consider this hurling team as only ‘average’. I’m sure he knows that every bar in the county is full of these ‘experts’ who profess to be loyal Cork hurling supporters.
