Hold Dáil and Seanad elections on same day

That said, I was enormously impressed by the line taken by Fergal Quinn and David Norris who could, understandably, have been triumphalist at the result of the referendum, yet both said this could be a new beginning for a reformed and better Seanad. Pat Rabitte has just said he does not see what can be done within the constitution. I disagree. The abuse by failed Dáil candidates and would-be TDs can be stopped by holding the general election and Seanad elections on the same day. Is there any reason why this cannot be done?
