GAA not playing fair

The GAA can reverse some decisions, but others remain cast in stone. It all depends on the counties involved.

GAA not playing fair

The hurling league has been restructured to allow Cork and Limerick back into an eight-team division 1A.

Would the same reinstatement have taken place had Clare been relegated, instead of Cork?

No wonder JBM wasn’t too worried, at the time.

By the same token, why can’t the seeded draw in the Munster football championship (which keeps Cork and Kerry on separate sides) be reversed, given that the other four Munster counties want an open draw.

To paraphrase George Orwell: “Six teams good, eight teams better,” especially when one of those teams is Cork.
