No hunger for GM

Here comes the Monsanto mantra again: we cannot feed 7bn people without GM crops.

There are no benefits from GM crops, other than for Monsanto. By opening famine countries to GM crops, we are exporting the malaise of Western agriculture. The ill-effects of GM technology are well documented. The latest study is from the University of Leipzig and shows that 100% of cows tested showed residues of glyphosate (Round-up) in their urine and damage to their liver and kidney. Most protein feed is based on imported, GM soy beans, so these results can be linked to the excessive use of Round-up. Imposing GM crops on countries is unethical.

Many studies have concluded that organic farming is the only solution in famine countries. Though 80% of the European population rejects GM, our politicians are still pushing for it. I wonder has this to do with pressure from lobby groups?
