When our Government introduced the household tax one of our ministers told us it would be ring-fenced to fund the provision of local services administered by local authorities. We understand it was to be spent on improving our third world by-roads, etc.

We have now been told that the €180m paid in at the moment is to be used to pay the bondholders. Can we believe anything we are being told by our Government ministers, bankers, etc? Is it justice that the taxpayer of our small island should have to pay for the bankers’ debts?

Dishonesty in all sections of our society has bankrupt our little island.
