Education system failing the test
Despite the advent of the State Examinations Commission’s remit in governing exams, things have not changed and serious problems remain that put students at a great disadvantage. The recent higher paper Maths mess-up will cost students dearly. Department propaganda that students will not suffer is nonsense. They certainly will not get the marks they would have got if the false questions they couldn’t answer were answered.
This country rarely takes responsibility for its mistakes, and our education minister has made no comment on the matter. The education system has become a system of quangos that answer to no one and a minister that does not want to know.
Examination problems have been going on in this country as long as anybody can remember in a sham of a system that should have been corrected before now.
It is set to live on, however, in an education system that is substandard.
