Space oddity

With the clear night skies we are getting a great view of a spectacular space happening.

Space oddity

The International Space Station (ISS) is being chased by the Albert Einstein ATV or Automated Transfer Vehicle 004. The Albert Einstein is the heaviest spacecraft ever lifted into orbit by an Ariane rocket, weighing 44,500 pounds.

The ISS is the largest man-made object in space, 239ft long, 356ft wide, about the size of Croke Park.

It is really a thrill to see. The spaceships should meet up today or tomorrow. There will be at least six more views till then. Google spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities and the name of your town to get the times and viewing information.
