White, you’re right

I would like to commend Victoria White for her excellent article (Opinion, June 6).

As a society we should care for our little ones as best as possible.

In this society, where a slab of cans costs less than a box of nappies and schools have taken on the responsibility for giving children their breakfast, we have certainly lost our way.

Perhaps we could start by ploughing the millions being handed over to creches each year into incentives that create the financial freedom for a parent to remain at home. A mortgage or part thereof could be paid for a period of three years, perhaps.
