Arc vows to continue breast cancer support

On behalf of Cork ARC Cancer Support House I would like to thank Avon Cosmetics Ireland, and in particular all company representatives involved in the company’s Breast Cancer Crusade, who worked with such enthusiasm and generosity to raise funds and awareness to provide a dedicated breast cancer support service at Cork ARC.

This vital funding and the door-to-door awareness that was created by the ‘Avon ladies’ over the last seven years has made a significant impact in the Munster region, providing a specialised and personal support service for women with breast cancer and their families.

Though Avon Cosmetics have withdrawn funding for the Breast Cancer Nurse Counsellor, Cork ARC Cancer Support House will endeavour to continue to provide this dedicated breast cancer service.

Cork ARC provides a safe haven for cancer patients and their families, offering a drop-in and telephone service where people can call without an appointment and chat with a trained volunteer.
