Not for turning

Following the death of Margaret Thatcher, it’s clear Gerry Adams’s PR advisers are not for turning.

Although Adams knows Éamon de Valera and Liam Cosgrave never capitulated to the blackmail of IRA hunger strikers, he criticises Thatcher for doing the same.

He described her as a militarist without concern for human life, presumably in his view unlike Bobby Sands and Co who chose death rather than renounce murder.
