Taoiseach Enda Kenny, on his trip to the USA, has promised to take up the cause of “the undocumented Irish” living and working in America. These are illegal immigrants.

Give Irish abroad the right to vote at home

It would be far better if he could make an attempt to ensure that Irish people, living abroad legally, would be able to vote in their own country. Ireland is the only country in the world that doesn’t allow many citizens to vote, yet foreign nationals, immigrants to Ireland, can. Ireland has always been a land of emigration and it seems that after the last person is leaving, the drawbridge is drawn up. My son is a British citizen, living in France. He has a postal vote in UK elections.
