Expensive habit

It’s interesting to see that our Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport is so against the idea of banning alcohol at sporting events.

In the year of The Gathering it seems even more imperative to the minister that we show our true identity to the world of people who are ‘up for the craic’.

‘His’ research and statistics that imply that alcohol sponsorship has no influence on young people is completely one sided and at odds with life in France.

Don’t use the recession as an excuse.

Alcohol is costing us €3.7bn a year in health and public service charges. Can we afford to avoid the issue any longer?
