Politicians must help rebuild our country before it’s too late

As we approach the end of 2012, I doubt too many people will shed a tear — as mass unemployment leads to our villages, towns and countryside losing our youth in their thousands to far away shores.

Politicians must help rebuild our country before it’s too late

This has a knock-on effect on sporting clubs and family life as we know it.

Most of us remember the ‘80s when our older siblings waved goodbye at Shannon, and the effect it had on our parents. Now we are the parents saying goodbye.

Government after government have failed the Irish people and seem glad to see the lifeblood of our country disappear on to foreign lands. If and when our beloved country turns the “famous corner” who will be here to rebuild Ireland? Will it be the school kids, or the near retirement guys and gals who have already worked for years carrying this country while our leaders danced to Europe’s tune?

As 2013 approaches I plead with elected representatives from all parties, Dáil down to local level, to stand up for the people who voted for them and stop governments selling our country into the Dark Ages.

Put your constituents first and then maybe then we can rebuild our great country and bring our loved-ones home.
