I would like to correct what I believe to be a seriously inaccurate impression given by Colette Browne in her column (Sep 5).

Pregnancy treatment

In spite of the impression she gives that pregnant women in Ireland are denied life-saving medical treatment, no such treatment is ever denied in Irish hospitals, even if it results in the death of the unborn child as an unintended consequence.
