US court ruling in favour of Vatican is no surprise

We should really take a moment to acknowledge the fact that a US federal judge has cleared the Vatican of being “employers” of a certain notorious paedophile priest (Letters, Aug 22).

US court ruling in favour of Vatican is no surprise

This does not surprise me.

Some 2,000 years ago the Roman Empire swept over the Western world introducing LEX Romana, ie the tyrannical rules of the empire. Today this system of rule has given us the corporatised nation state, legal system and financing models that we so naively consider the very epitome of civilisation.

Vatican rule was consolidated in 325 AD at the Council of Nicea around the time the Roman Empire fell. From then on they propagated the Roman model of influence under the guise of converting and saving the natives from themselves.

Ireland — pretty much alone — resisted until 1169. The old Irish Culdee church spread the true teachings of the Christ in the Dark Ages, ie to love others and not violate them in any way. This is also known as the common law of the land.

The fact that the legal system in the US, a direct offshoot of Lex Romana, should favour the corporate Vatican over the victims of this man is but one perfect example. Meanwhile, Lex Romana consumes all goodness in its path.

Thankfully this odious system of rule has no jurisdiction, and indeed is subservient to the common law. That is our saving grace as we awaken to our true power.
