Take note of how US treated abuse cover-up

It is very interesting how a judge in the US has sentenced a Catholic monsignor to six years in prison because he concealed from civil justice the sexual abuse of children by “monsters in clerical garb” (Jul 26).

According to Government statistics, there were 13,600 cases of sexual abuse of children by clergy reported here and documented in some form, and it seems that 99% of them were concealed from civil justice.

How trustworthy is our Church?

Why are the people who shielded and protected the offenders still enjoying their freedom? The sooner the Minister for Education can sever all connections between Church and State, the better.
