In his usual bombastic style, Minister of Justice Alan Shatter tells the Dáil that his new legislation on mandatory reporting “applies to all persons, to all organisations and to all sectors of society.

No one is exempt from prosecution”.

He then passes the book to the courts. Job done by the politicians!

If only life was so neat.

One esteemed voluntary organisation which operates a helpline on a confidential basis, feels it will be forced to warn its clients it can no longer offer that service.
