Credit where it’s due

K Nolan (Letters, Jun 23) tells us that he shows his visitors from abroad Bertie Ahern’s TV commercial for a tabloid newspaper, presumably as his contribution to the welfare of Ireland Inc. This must afford him great satisfaction.

Perhaps the next time he wants to show Ireland off to his visitors he may show them the photo of the same Bertie leaving his mother’s graveside to immediately return to Belfast to try to complete the Peace agreement — a wonderful achievement that he played such a leading, selfless role in?

Without his energy and patience, it is doubtful if this agreement would have been completed at all, or at least when it was. Please give credit where it’s due.
