Priests cannot change Catholic teaching

I refer to your recent front page expose of Redemptorist priests’ reactions to the Vatican censure of liberal priests and to Dan Buckley’s contribution to same which he described as a return of the Inquisition.

In my opinion these liberal priests do not have the responsibility to change Catholic teaching that has served Catholic congregations for years. They have the freedom, if they wish, to join other Christian denominations that accommodate their beliefs.

I cannot understand how they proceeded to Catholic ordination which is subject to Vatican authority if they considered its rules too demanding.
