It may be time to bring St Patrick back again

Your editorial commentaries today (Apr 12) clearly conjure a starkly contrasting take on the innate qualities of Irishness, as manifest throughout various social realities and workplace tapestries (or should that be travesties?).

It may be time to bring St Patrick back again

The wonderful tendency towards a caring charitable support of the vulnerable via increased fund-raising and re-distribution (eg the work of St Vincent de Paul) stands proud against a backdrop of self-serve, mé-féinism and a corruptive machination designed to garner and grab in pursuit of self.

The shocking disclosure of the sham-operation of civil service grading and promotional career awards is a patently core indictment of the regular systematic malaise of inefficiency, ineptitude and inertia being rewarded beyond all realms of decency.!

We should entreat St Patrick to revisit us, to do a bit more ‘snakes- and-ladders’ banishment.
