Hijacked by thugs

The small protest that blocked one entrance to the Fine Gael Árd Fheis was for the most part noisy and peaceful.

However, it was hijacked by a bunch of thugs who appear at all events to cause trouble.

What cause can be advanced in a democracy by spitting at, punching, and kicking another citizen if you do not agree with their party policies?

How happy is Joe Higgins TD, or Jonathan O’Brien TD to lead such a campaign?

Will the residents of Ballyphehane in Cork who travelled up by bus discover they too are as much ‘cannon fodder’ as the residents of Mulhuddert felt when they were abandoned after fighting the anti-bin tax campaign in 2004?

The Fine Gael/Labour Government are pushing a large ball up a hill on behalf of the people.

It will get to the top or we will be crushed.

There are no other options.
