Make your voice heard for change
The corruption we have in Ireland is not unusual. It must be seen in the context of a political system which is organised in such a weak and undemocratic manner that this is always going to be inevitable. The corruption and abuse of political power is merely a symptom of the political disease which is our present so-called democracy, which in reality is a feudal hierarchical system where the political parties are the uncontrolled elite and the citizens are the victims at the bottom. This rotten behaviour we have seen lately will continue, and continue unless the system itself is changed and democracy is brought to Ireland.
I have set up a website to bring democracy to Ireland, www.irishcitizen.ie. The process of change must begin with a thorough understanding of what are the core problems with our political system, for it is impossible to fix a problem unless that problem is thoroughly understood. And changing a political system is as serious as it can get, for it will affect the future of this nation and its citizens.
The process of change and bringing a democratic political system to Ireland has two stages. The first is understanding the core problems with our present system. The second is putting democratic mechanisms in place to correct and banish those core problems. At present I have a document dealing with the first stage. It describes the key features in our present political system which guarantee failure and guarantee a citizenry who will always lose out. This is now online and available to read or download. These are the processes and aspects of our political system which need thorough changing.
The second document, a proposal for a new definitive and realistic democratic political system, which will both improve the citizens’ ability to participate in the political process, and also create a system of political power and authority which will protect the citizens from the abuses by politicians as we have seen lately, will be online soon, but only when it is required.
Now is the time to stop complaining. It achieves nothing. What we now urgently require is calm, clear rational thinking to ensure that the future of this nation will be very different, more positive and democratic than the present and the past.
The citizens of many so-called democracies are disenchanted with their political system. Their frustration grows each day. Ireland can show the way forward and demonstrate that it is possible to bring in a true form of democracy and put an end to past failures. But I am just one citizen. I cannot effect change on my own. I have started the process with the first document. Please go to the website and make yourself thoroughly aware of what the core problems are. The future and the type of democratic political system we will end up having depends on the decisions made by every citizen of Ireland today.
