Chapter and verse

Given RTE’s recent track record it comes as no surprise to see they intend to subject us, the victims, to more denials from Bertie.

Chapter and verse

When his predecessor died there were some who, in his defence, quoted Shakespeare’s tragic hero, Othello: “I have done the state some service”. I always objected that Charlie could only be compared to the villain, “that demi-devil“, Iago. If only RTE would allow Bertie to cut short his interview by quoting Iago’s words (as he was dragged away to prison): “Demand me nothing: what you know, you know: From this time forth I never will speak word.”

We have spent too much listening to “untruthful” politicians. Please could we leave the interviewing to the likes of CAB, where, in private, they may retrieve our money. Even then it is asking too much to hope they will follow Gratiano’s reposte to Iago: “Torments will ope your lips.”
