Unanswered questions

We now have had the Dirt, Moriarty and now Mahon Tribunal/enquiries to name but a few.

I believe they are very worthwhile even if people Iike lawyers made a lot of money from them.

But the nagging questions in my mind are the following: Where were the forces of law when these incidents and malpractices were going on? Do they go around in the dark? They must have known what was going on.

Why isn’t the system changed in a fundamental way that we the citizen will notice?

Why are certain State entitlements being paid to the few people who were convicted after the outcome of some of these enquiries?

When will we have an open, transparent democracy?
