Ó Cuív’s long silence

Former Minister Ó Cuív has now decided to leave his position on the Fianna Fáil frontbench due to his differences with the leader of his party on the proposed Fiscal Treaty referendum.

Mr Ó Cuív would have done this country some service if he had been more outspoken during the time he served as a member of this previous Government in various capacities while this whole sorry financial crisis developed.

He toed the party and Government’s line during that eventful September evening in 2008 which led us to where we are now.
