CUH services have been cut to the bone

News of the €22m in cuts to CUH budget, as well as what can only be described as an all-out attack on other hospitals in Cork as announced in the HSE plans, represents the final nail in the coffin for health services in the region.

CUH services have been cut to the bone

It makes claims of change and progress made prior to the election 12 months ago, by members of the current Government (then in opposition) ring hollow and false. What a difference a year makes! Staff at Cork’s largest hospital, CUH, are doing trojan work under huge pressure, but the place is now bursting at its seams.

We are well and truly back in the 80s. The health minister, himself a medical man, needs to shout stop. We are at the bone and there is no more fat to trim.
