Spotlight needed on lottery winners
Week after week after week, tickets have been won in the west in an uncanny succession.
Unlike times past, the National Lottery draw as it take place is no longer observed live by people who are invited into the studio to look over the draw.
The practice of individual observation was put in place to ensure the draw was live — this is no longer the case. There also seems to be a disproportionate number of people in their mid-life who win the lottery as opposed to younger people who are below the age of 40, who never seem to win it.
There are also a lot of winners who never become known to the public, which is a practice that should end immediately to ensure upfrontness and openness.
It is about time that the National Lottery was scrutinised by outside independent observers to ensure fair play and to ensure that all winners become known.
