Cowardly budget hurts neediest

THIS austerity budget of Fine Gael and Labour at the behest of their German/Franco masters is a cowardly attack on the disadvantaged areas and any Fine Gael or Labour backbench TD that voted in these cutbacks has, as Pat Rabbitte told Pat Carey, “no shame”.

Did we not see at election time Fine Gael posters supporting farmers, probably the big farmers, now that the poor have to take the pain?

Cuts in the REPS, area aid stock density doubled, school bus fee doubled, AEOS scheme deferred, the elderly without heat, lone parents driven into poverty and the bigger families also suffer while Enda Kenny gives €35,000 for a pay hike and €6,000 for a photo shoot at the National Ploughing Championships.

They said “not another cent to toxic banks”. What a lie — they only gave away €2bn to please their masters.

Many Fine Gael and Labour TDs have sealed their fate. They, like the harp on Tara’s walls, will feel their pulse no more. The bristles of the new brooms will be scattered by the very same electorate that sent the Greens to the crematorium.

Was it not Labour that said the Greens would not be left with a fig leaf to cover themselves and FF would be licking their wounds? This country needs radical reform and change — not substituting one group of dictators for another.
