Political football

THE different arguments debated on the budget highlights the various interests involved and the political footballs that emanate from these arguments.

Surely the budget should not be subject to any one political party, but drawn up by various individuals, who would be outside the political spectrum, and be an independent body?

The budget should not be in the hands of the politicians who can manipulate it for his/her party advantage — that is the reason for our economic dilemma.

The manipulation of the budget brought us to where we are today.
