Austerity for politicians?

ITALIAN Prime Minister Mario Monti has announced he will not take a salary for next year as part of his austerity plan for the nation.

Will any Irish government minister, or any executive-level member of the public sector or state-owned financial institution, be willing to do the same as part of the austerity plan for Ireland?
